Lecture Summary:

This day meeting will cover the medical aspects of caring for dogs and cats with cancer in veterinary practice. Through the use of problem orientated lectures and real life case studies, delegates will develop a clear understanding of the aims and outcomes of cancer treatment. The complications and ethical dilemmas involved in providing both palliative and curative treatments will be discussed.

Specific topics to be discussed include:

  • Problem orientated lectures with case-based discussions
  • Managing the common cancers in practice
  • Palliative treatments in cancer care
  • The emergency cancer patient – coping with paraneoplastic disease
