This evening meeting will cover the medical aspects of the palliative care of dogs and cats with cancer in veterinary practice, in particular longer-term palliative care and effective maintenance of chronic cases. Focus will be given to pain relief, chemotherapy and nutritional support. Through the use of problem orientated lectures and real life case studies, delegates will develop a clear understanding of the aims and outcomes of palliative cancer treatment. The complications and ethical dilemmas involved in providing palliative treatments will also be discussed.
